Thank you DougM!  Listening to her sing gave me goosebumps and water to my eyes.  Nice feelings on this Day of Celebration and Gratitude.

Leaders throughout history have not been those who follow the conventional wisdom.

Palin has heard nothing but “she ought to.. she has to… she’d better… she can’t… blah blah blah” since she came on the national stage, and before that in Alaska. 

Well she just raised the stakes.  This is a GIANT “Bite Me” to all those experts and talking heads. 

Whatever anyone else thinks, I’m in.  Here’s her post bombshell July 4 message:

“I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint. I hope you will join me. Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness!”

Those are not the words of a quitter but a tough and smart point guard.  I don’t know if she is going to run but I’m damn sure she’s going to be on the court helping us score.

Well, now we have some solid justification for turning away all those boat people coming across the Caribbean.  “We have a moral obligation to keep you from entering such a shoddy, shabby little country as ours.  We are equally morally compelled to turn you over to one of several nearby, high-on-the-list paradises.  It’s for your own good—really!”

Hog - A good thing folks from the South can poke fun at themselves.  Several years back, I almost made that club.  My Sicilian neighbor and I thought if the mortars fired so well in the short tube that came with them, then using a tube a foot longer would put the mortars higher in the air.  Wrong.  Mortar got about 15 feet high and went boom.  It was kewl.  And then my cousin lit off an M80 and set off all the car alarms and a few house alarms.

They always take advantage of ignorance. When “communist” earned its bad name, they became “liberal”. When “liberal” earned its bad name, they became “progressive”.

Every time they earn the bad reputation they deserve, they change their name and move on to try it again on another generation. They’ll do it again soon enough. Deception and illusion are the only way they can survive.

I downloaded the document and read some of it. It’s written by a professor at the University of Maryland (Roger needs to fix that!) and contains a lot of socialist-drivel about western economies expressed in all sorts of apocalyptic language. As you know that any study arrives at conclusions which are the result of data applied to certain assumptions. Read the freaking assumptions in this document: one-World, pie-in-the-sky, elitist, bullsh*t!

I know the Kiwi boat driver who did *Pirates* with Depp. He has nothing but good stuff to say about Johnny.

Sorry, Lucius… I don’t know how it happened. One minute my avatar is there, and the next minute here is this ol’ bug. My muse Lefty, she knows stuff about computers and whatnot, and she thinks it might be some kind of computer bug, maybe embedded in my operatin’ system or something! I put a bug bomb inside my computer case and put a roach motel in my spare drive bay, so maybe that’ll fix it. I sure hope so…

I bet if you look in a few textbooks you will find exactly that, though maybe not in those words. The “hate America” crowd has had government schools under their pink little thumbs for 30 years or so, teaching them crap just like this.
